A nice letter from Jenny from Amberly: In 2004 I became a weekend hacker hoping to one day master the game of golf. I started playing with my husband to get away from our small farm and full time jobs and at least spend a few hours together where we were not working. I was a complete novice but soon became hooked on the game and couldn’t wait till the next weekend came around. Before long I had put in … Continue reading →

Can Tiger come back? I believe that he can. This week in Florida he was 8th in greens in regulation and at least 75th in putting. It is very interesting to see him on the greens right now – he just doesn’t look comfortable – not like he used to in the past. The swing changes are coming along but his putting is letting him down. When he gets the feel again the rest of the world will have to … Continue reading →

Last Sunday I had the privilege attending the Pegasus NZ Women’s Open. There were many stars that day but New Zealander Cecilia Cho age 13 who finished fourth was outstanding. This young lady stood up to all the pressures of a Sunday in the running for a tournament win. I really enjoyed watching the finesse these professionals showed in negotiating a very difficult course in very windy and trying conditions.

There was a nice article by Heather Kidd in “The Cut” Magazine recently about our Jacks Point Golf Schools: “The question was straightforward but answering it took some deliberation: what do you want to achieve from attending golf school? Where should I start? A number of things are hampering my progress in the sport – my swing; poor contact/topping of the ball; hitting the same distance no matter the club; an inability to work out what is wrong and how … Continue reading →
